Left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama, with a matchbag of 11 for 144, steered Moors SC to a 45-run outright win over Tamil Union in their SLC Premier Tier ‘A’ Plate Championship Inter-Club Cricket encounter which concluded at the De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa yesterday.
Praveen, who ended with a five-wicket haul in the first innings, followed up with six wickets as Tamil Union were bowled out for 155 runs in the second innings.
Meanwhile, Lankan CC recorded a comfortable first innings win over SSC in their match which concluded at the Colts Grounds.
Chanaka Ruwansiri hit a career-best 165 in 201 balls inclusive of 17 boundaries and seven sixes as Lankan CC made 375 in reply to SSC’s first innings total of 332.
Negombo CC also secured a comfortable first innings win against Badureliya SC in their match which ended at NCC Grounds.
