The Commonwealth Games Association of Sri Lanka has decided to cancel table tennis from the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Therefore Sri Lanka will be participating in 14 disciplines instead of 15 at the Games.

The Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka had named leading paddlers Supun Warusavithana, Chameera Ginige, Krishan Wickramaratne and Milinda Lakshan for the Commonwealth Games. However, Warusavithana and Ginige are in Sri Lanka but Wickramaratne and Lakshan decided to go overseas suddenly resulting in table tennis being cancelled.

Warusavithana is the only one to qualify for the Games.
