ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup Tanveer guides Australia in last over thriller

An unbroken 72-run stand in 70 balls for the seventh-wicket between Tanveer Sangha and Patrick Rowe helped Australia Under-19 record a thrilling four-wicket win with one ball to spare in their ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup Super League playoff semifinal encounter against Afghanistan Under-19 played at Potchesfstroom, South Africa yesterday.
Australia Under-19 needed 10 runs off the last over and Tanveer hoisted a six in the penultimate ball as they ended with 195 for six.


Tanveer made a match winning unbeaten knock of 46 in 40 balls that included five boundaries and a six while Patrick remained unbeaten on 22.
Earlier, Afghanistan Under-19 taking first lease of the wicket made a modest 191 which came on the back of an unbeaten 91 made by Farhan Zakhil which proved to be in vain.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe Under-19 recorded a massive 172-run win over Scotland Under-19 to secure the 11th slot in their match played at Kimberley. MSA
