The Dialog President’s Gold Cup Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Tournament District matches will commence on
September 28.
The tournament has attracted a record participation of over 2,500 teams and consisting over 40,000 players.
The tournament is conducted by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) and sponsored by Dialog Axiata PLC for the 14th successive year.
The competition will be worked off island-wide over a period of four months attracting teams from over 300 Divisional Secretaries.
The matches will then subsequently be worked off at District and National level.
The District Level champions will compete in the President’s Gold Cup while the runners-up will participate in the President’s Challenge Trophy.
The tournament will also serve as a base to identify and funnel fresh talent to the National Junior and Senior Pools who in turn will undergo advance training to represent the country.
The entries for the tournament close on September 5 with the Secretary SLVB, 33, Torrington Square, Colombo 7.
