19 officials get Advanced Sports Management Diploma awards

Nineteen officials received Advanced Sports Management Diploma awards at a ceremony held at the Hemasiri Fernando auditorium at Olympic House yesterday.


The recipients of the awards were Lt. Cdr. D.M.J.N. Pinthu, Abdullah Yusuf, H. Gehan M. Dias, Reshmin Mihin Amarasinghe, Senaka Ranasingha, Irangani Rupasinghe, D.S. Vitharana, Devni Madurapperum, Iroshika Namasingha, J.A.S.D. Bandara, Lakna Harindi Hewawaravita, M.G.GH. Laksara, M.T.P.PL. Perera, Udeshika Kaushalya Dantanarayana, V.N. Rajapakse, Sqn. Ldr. Lilangi Randeni, Wing Cdr. M.R.M. Hamza, P.M.K. Jayawardena and Hithaishi Jayawardena.


The chief guests at the ceremony were Prof. R.M.U.S.K. Rathnayake, Vice Chancellor of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and Anuradha Wijekoon, Secretary to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
“The Advanced Sports Management Programme conducted by the National Olympic Committee (NOC) could be seen in different perspectives. It is the responsibility of the NOC to protect and develop Olympism. It is a programme conducted by International Olympic Committee Solidarity Movements where the NOCs could benefit out of this course to train senior level managers to conduct sports organisations,” said NOC’s Programme Director, B.L.H. Perera.
