They yearn to get back their lost gold!

The Reds of the new left have now begun political activity in the North. They have opened branch offices in Kilinochchi and Pudumatalan, one-time springboards of Tiger militancy.

Both Handun and Bimal have pitched camp there.

Preparatory to getting up a priority list for action, the Reds asked the people in the area to make complaints in writing regarding their main grievances and pressing problems. And there was a prompt response from the people.

Practically every complainant had made an impassioned plea that an attempt be made to recover the gold jewelry they lost when they were displaced during the hostilities.

Now the Reds have launched investigations to find out as to who looted the gold items of these poor people and whether there is a possibility of recovering them.
