Secret behind contradictory signals coming from his office

An occupant of a big chair in the opposition is said to be carrying a heavy chip on his shoulder these days, Diyawanna members say.

“He is disillusioned. He expected a lot after the election. But what he has got so far is peanuts,” one member said.

This opposition heavyweight had given a hint of his suppressed feelings when he told a group of Blue party provincial politicos the other day: “I wonder whether I was taken for a ride.”

The contradictory signals being given by the office of this opposition stalwart these days are a clue to his frame of mind, they say.
