Party leader to get half the payoff

Political circles are abuzz these days with rumours about possible crossovers.

Overriding these rumors is the latest bizarre story about the leaders of two minor political outfits encouraging their prominent members to cross the great divide for a princely payoff - on condition the latter share the spoils with them on a 50-50 basis.

They say that already there are about half a dozen members from these two political parties displaying the ‘for sale’ tag and waiting for the right offer.
Given the prevailing political culture, can anyone expect these politicos to ignore this godsend opportunity to make good money while retaining the goodwill of the party leader?
