This young former Green purohita from the Colombo District who was thick in the campaign for Saji was in for an acute disappointment when the latter lost, but he had scored a personal victory by winning the girl he fell in love with and was courting while engaged in electioneering, they say.
The girl is said to be hailing from a prominent family in Colombo 7 which had actively supported the yahapalanaya. Their residence also served as a convenient spot for Green Diyawanna members to meet quite frequently to discuss the political developments during the run-up to the big poll.
The former purohita, now only a Diyawanna member has planned to tie the knot shortly, they say.
