The economist who had been serving the country’s big boss as his advisor has suddenly disappeared, they say.
The man had left the country saying that his absence would be very brief, and then he had gone off the radar.
In fact, this advisor had been away serving in high posts at some world bodies for several years and he had returned home to advise the big boss here. Later he was appointed as the head of the economic council as well.
However, when he became the butt of much criticism as the economy began floundering, he seemed to have performed the vanishing trick, they say.
