It says that the heads of Samurdhi and Excise Departments are to be replaced by two hand-picked persons past their sixties.
The Samurdhi job is to be placed in the hands of a person aged 73. The excise job too is to be offered to a similar elder spending his twilight years.
TU activists are already up in arms against these moves to offer high positions to retirees, when these positions are the dues of the young and experienced white-collar ones already in service. The JO stalwarts are also expected to take up these two issues, they say.
