A certain provincial administration whose tenure is about to expire has got up a grand programme to enlighten the electorate on their performance in the past few years.
They have also planned to bring out a publication containing a detailed record of their performance at a high cost. Later, the provincial chief called on Number One with the draft copy of the proposed publication to consult the latter’s opinion.
Number One had appeared highly impressed with the draft. After commending the write-up, he had proffered one bit of advice:
“Remove all pictures of the former boss!”
The provincial chief was a little surprised by this advice for it was he himself who advised the inclusion of the pictures of the former strongman.
Back in his office, the provincial chief had removed all pictures of the former strongman from the draft publication, but with a heavy heart given the possible political consequences decisive for his political future.
