A fair and lovely Diyawanna member recently charged that the skullduggery on the part of some under-hand dealers in the party was partly responsible for Suji’s defeat at the big poll.
Addressing a ‘thanksgiving’ meeting held in Ratmalana the dainty one accused the unnamed party high-ups of having entered into an underhand deal with the Pohottuwa boss.
She also charged that a certain character who had made it a habit to leak to the Pohottuwa boss the party issues being discussed at the working committee through his mobile phone continued to undermine Saji’s position.
When some party seniors were listening to the serious charges with a telltale smile, a Green high-up had asked them the cause for their humour.
Then one of the seniors had replied:
“She used to tell us similar yarns when she was on the other side too!”
