The property in a central city, on which the house of a young Diyawanna politico stands, is said to be expanding in extent little by little in an unusual way.
The secret behind this unusual ‘expansion’ of the land area is the availability of a forest reservation adjoining his housing property, they say.
The politico is said to be annexing the reservation area to his land through a gradual process of felling trees and clearing the undergrowth.
The authorities have turned a blind eye to this slow, but steady deforestation exercise.
