This candidate in the big race is said to have vented his spleen on party organisers when he had to attend four poorly attended campaign meetings in the Athugalpura area.
A small crowd in the range of 200 to 500 had turned up at the four meetings and the candidate had snapped at the organisers concerned charging that he had to waste his precious time addressing a handful of people due to their laggardness.
“If you can’t properly organize a rally you should not have invited me!” he had told the organizers.
Not to be outdone, the organisers had told the candidate that they should have been asked to organise one rally instead of four whistle-stop meetings.
