The Green party backbenchers are said to demanding in one voice that the subject of national security be handed to Fonny. However, government front-liners, in general, do not appear to welcome this demand.
Meanwhile, objection to Fonny being given this important portfolio has come from a very high place, they say.
Reacting to the proposal that Fonny be placed in charge of the national security, a government strongman had explained to several proponents:
“None of our security high-ups like him. Besides, intelligence is not a job that involves battling with cannons and bombs. Intelligence involves brain work! We all know what happened when he was placed in charge of wildlife… National intelligence cannot be compromised in the same way!” He had added: “Therefore, no matter who resigns or who make the demand, he will not get the portfolio!”
