This fair one holding a key post in a sacred city in the central hills has made it a practice to mint money out of every development project big or small in the area, they say.
Some contractors handling public undertakings complain that they find it difficult to carry out their works without paying santhosham to the lady and she has become a veritable plague to them.
These contractors had been compelled the other day to ‘contribute’ Rs. 50,000 each for the lady to celebrate the event of her daughter attaining age.
She has appointed a special official to receive the ‘offerings’ being made to her by the contractors, they say.
