Several Blue stalwarts from Pulatisipura have made a strong plea to the former Number One to solicit the Mahaweli portfolio for that position is very important for their area. A select group of loyalists hosted to a grand dinner had first made this request to the former Number One.
Later when a political buddy from Medirigiriya was pressing the former Number One to act fast to secure the important portfolio, the latter had given him a hint about a significant political move that he had planned to make in the near future.
The former Number One had said:
“I have got an alternative which will serve your ends as well as mine. Once this alternative comes into operation, we all will be able to work comfortably as we did before!”
However, the former Number One had stopped short of explaining what his alternative was, they say.
