The sudden disappearance of the head of the health sector who put his shoulder to the wheel when the first wave of the coronavirus was raging in the country, had become a talking point both in the public domain and political circles.
It had come to light later that he had been appointed as the top executive of another Ministry.
So, some elements in the government and the opposition interpreted his promotion as a case of being kicked upstairs for the ulterior purpose of removing him from the key position in the health department.
Meanwhile, a group of government stalwarts who met a top political authority inquired why the medical high-up who rose to the occasion in the country’s grave hour was removed while in mid-stream.
The top authority who only smiled pulled out a letter from a file and asked them to go through the contents. He next showed them a number of SMS messages he had received on his mobile phone. The group of government stalwarts later left the place quite satisfied that the medical high-up was no victim of any intrigue or machination, and he had been promoted at his own request.
