He silently nursed a grievance against the leader for thee years!

It  had come to light recently that a certain opposition Diyawanna member had such strained relations with the opposition leader that he had   been avoiding a face-to-face encounter with the latter for the last three years, they say.

This Diyawanna member had fallen out with the opposition leader as the latter while being a top team member earlier had failed to pay any heed to some requests of his. 

Despite harboring this grievance, the Diyawanna member  had never thought of switching over to another party or to cause any trouble or harm to the opposition leader. The twosome had patched up their differences quite recently and it was thereafter that the story about their strained relationship had come out, they say.

Another opposition colleague had asked the Diyawanna member, “why did you harbor such a grievance silently for such a long time?”

However, the Diyawanna member had proffered no reply to this query, they say.
