The main character of this story is a politico who has made it to Diyawanna through the betel leaf national list.
Lately, he had started submitting highly favourable reports to Number One about some high-ups fallen foul of the law. He is said to be making a special effort these days to save a one-time security chief facing serious charges.
Meanwhile, khaki and legal departmental high-ups who called on Number One had apprised him of the chapter and verse about the high-class culprits whom the national list Diyawanna one had been making a persistent effort to whitewash.
Convinced that the national list one had been trying to lead him by the nose Number One has decided to give him the walking papers!
