A female Diyawanna elected for the first time from a district north of the capital of central province has reportedly begun dominating the political landscape in the district while the onetime well-known trio from the ‘elephant family’ appears to have gone into a deep slumber.
She is said to be going on a whistle-stop tour in the district explaining how certain decisions taken by the new regime is going to affect the people.
The elder two of the ‘elephant trio’ had earlier tried their best without success to prevent the lady being given nomination to enter the fray, they say.
Now that the lady has comfortably won while the ‘elephant trio’ suffered an unexpected defeat, she has begun demonstrating her prowess.
