The most vociferous among the Blue party electorate level organizers who staged a revolt against the current party leadership for ‘selling out’ the party to Pohottuwa is an elderly one hailing from the Colombo district.
The main reason why he is so much opposed to the Blue party – Pohottuwa tie-up is the foregone conclusion that the electorate he has been nursing for donkey’s years would be conceded to Prince Panchaudha, a leading light in the anti-Green alliance, they say.
However, the elderly one, obviously in a fence-mending effort, had told the media that the ‘rebel group’s policy script did not contain a demand calling for the resignation of Number One.’
This statement by the elderly one had angered the other members of the rebel group and some of them had even wanted to expel him from the group. But the others had cautioned them against making any move against the elderly one for if the latter decided to loosen his tongue it would be disastrous for them all. Because, all their secret talks had been held at the elderly one’s residence, and if he spilt the beans, they all would be in serious trouble.
