The party leaders of the regime coalition met the other day with the Big Boss in the Chair.

It was rumoured ahead of the meeting that the reason for summoning the meeting was to take a serious decision against Prince Panchaudha for having made certain irresponsible statements in public. So, the leaders participated in this special meeting anticipating fireworks at it.

When practically everyone was expecting sparks to start flying, the Gampaha District heavyweight known for triggering fireworks had risen to his feet. However, if anyone expected him to breathe fire, there was a surprise coming to him.

The Gampaha District heavyweight had spoken like a typical peace-lover. He had pointed out that it was the duty of everyone to correct their mistakes and they should follow a policy of ‘forgive and forget’. And his opinion had received the ready backing from the top men of the regime.

The participants also had reached the consensus that they should always strive to settle their differences among themselves without allowing them to develop into public issues.

So, the meeting had ended on a happy note!

The credit for dousing the flames of discord within the coalition which could have developed into a major issue should go to the seasoned leader with a down-to-earth attitude, they say.
