The weekend’s sitting of the Constitutional Assembly over, the attendees began dispersing and some of them were seen leaving the precincts.
However, the former strongman, now the Opposition chief who had headed for the opposition lobby and was seen pacing about there as if he was expecting to meet somebody.
A few minutes later to the surprise of some onlookers, the Green leader too headed for the Opposition lobby and was seen in an intimate conversation with the former strongman.
Several Diyawanna politicos from both sides were watching the VIP duo engaged in visibly an interesting chat, which both seemed to be enjoying. None of the onlookers moved in their direction as if they all had tacitly agreed that at the two’s company a third would make a crowd.
According to a knowledgeable source, that this one-on-one discussion that lasted for 25 minutes could have dragged on longer if not for the former strongman having had to rush to Nawalapitiya to attend an important event there. However, none knows for sure what was discussed during this dialogue. Nevertheless, all share the view that they may have exchanged views on the upcoming big poll and the general polls.
