Sri Lanka Tourism and SriLankan Airlines have agreed for a mutually beneficial joint marketing programme at a meeting at ITB in Berlin.

Sri Lanka Tourism last week entered into a promotional tie-up with Sri Lanka Tea Board worth Rs.1 billion.

According to a press statement by Sri Lanka Tourism, with SriLankan Airlines coming onboard, the global promotional budget will now exceed Rs.5 billion.
The partnership is expected to give a strong push to the agendas of both state entities and a big win for brand Sri Lanka, given that connectivity is identified a key driver in increasing travelers to a destination.

SriLankan Airlines Global Sales Head Lal Perera said, the synergy will help the country improve its impact globally.

According to Sri Lanka Tourism Promotional Bureau Chairman Rohantha Athukorala, the linking with key institutions like SriLankan Airlines and Sri Lanka Tea Board could make Sri Lanka become a power brand globally.
