Colombo Diabetic Foot Conference 2012

According to an study, conducted by PGIM in 2011 in ijcrimph (journal), selected pool of 110 patients of male has 82.7% non healing ulcers and 38.2% amounted for amputation where this prevalence will further increase with an increased number of Diabetes Patients. Considering the very need, Sri Lankan League for the Prevention of Diabetic Foot Amputation had taken an initiative to arrange 2 day session on 17 and 18th February 2012 at SLFI to address on this issue. Organizers of this event were, Dr. Prasad Katulanda representing Endocrine Society of Sri Lanka and Professor Mandika Wijeyaratne from Vascular Surgery Department of NHSL. Around 200 doctors had participated in each day. PharmEvo Pvt Ltd from Pakistan has been an icon in supporting medical community since its inception and they always preferred to contribute to the well being of society irrespective of their presence in any country. For this unconditional dedication, PharmEvo had brought Professor Abdul Basit (Director Baqai Institute of Diabetology & Endocrinology, IDF centre of Education) on second time from Pakistan to share his expertise and experience of Pakistan for the same cause to reduce the burden of foot ulcers and threat of amputation.
