CIMA President Babber in town

CIMA ’s President, Gulzari Babber who is on an official tour to all CIMA markets in the region makes his visit to Sri Lanka this week.

During his visit he will be participating in the two CIMA convocations for students and members which will introduce 307 new graduates to the corporate world, and welcome 513 new members to its fraternity.

The CIMA President will also make several courtesy calls on important business dignitaries and corporates whilst hosting the annual CIMA members’ dinner and visiting leading CIMA tuition providers in the island.

Gulzari Babber became a Fellow in 1997. He is one of the Institute’s Registered Members in Practice and has run his own accountancy and taxation practice in Harrow, West London since 1985.

He has served as an elected member of the CIMA Council from 1997 to 2010 representing the North London Thames Area (Region 1). He has been a member of various committees and since 2001 also chaired a number of the Policy Committees: the Members’ Services Committee, the Marketing Committee, the Professional Standards Committee and the Technical Committee before being elected CIMA Vice President in June 2010.

Babber has also been a member of the Institute’s Executive Committee since 2001.

He is actively involved in voluntary and religious organisations. He has served as CivilianChair of Harrow Air Training Corp 1454 Squadron and the Treasurer of Hindu Forum Britain. He is currently General Secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Temple in Southall and Joint Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Hindu Consultation Forum. He is also the current Chairman of Ealing Community and Police Consultative Group.
