British Car Day 2016 with the Classic Car Club and Land Rover

The Classic Car Club of Ceylon and Land Rover for a thirdyear running present ‘British Car Day’, an event, whichshowcases British cars and motorbikesfrom the 1930s onwards in true festival spirit.

“A ‘classic car’ isconsidered an older automobile withenoughhistoricalinterest to becollectable and worthpreserving or restoringratherthanscrapping.   The Classic Car Club of Ceylonisthusdedicated to provide the foundation for the preservation and restoration of the finest of these automobiles everbuilt. British Car Dayis a celebration of the  ‘Golden Age’ of the British AutomotiveIndustry. SML FrontierAutomotive  (Pvt) Limited, the Land Rover people, have always been a major part of the British MotorIndustry and have magnanimously come forward as the event sponsor of thisevent once againthisyear. Going by previousyears, thiseventwillbe a sight to bebeholdwitheveryclassic British vehicleexpected to bepresent, including the Jaguar, Aston Martin, Triumph, Lotus, MG, Morgan and Rolls Royce.” SaidClassic Car Club of CeylonPresidentDineshJayawardana.

Widelyregarded as the best off-road vehicle in existence, Land Rover continues to carry on the British tradition of excellence in automotive design. The term ‘Quintessentially British’ comes to mindwhenreferring to a Land Rover.

The eventwilltake place in one of the city’smosticonic settings, the Galle Face Hotel. British Car Day willbeheld on Sunday, January 31st, 2016. Over 80 cars willbe on display at the venue from 09:00am, where the public willbe able seethemshine in gloryuntillateafternoon.
