Browns Agriculture plays key role in govt. drought assistance initiative

Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe hands over Browns TAFE Tractors to the Government officers and agents of the respective District Secretarial Offices in the drought affected areas

 

The Browns Agriculture Division was selected by the Government of Sri Lanka as the preferred partner in its initiative to distribute water to the drought affected communities in the country.


Browns TAFE 45DI Tractors were chosen for this endeavor and the ceremony for handing over the tractors to the respective District Secretarial Offices in the drought affected areas took place at Temple Trees recently with Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.


The programme was initiated under the leadership and guidance of President Maithripala Sirisena and was organised by Home Affairs Minister Vajira Abeywardena.


Browns TAFE 45DI Tractors and bowsers were handed over to the District Secretarial Offices of Gampaha, Kurunegala, Puttalam, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Monaragala. Browns TAFE Tractors are widely acclaimed for quality and low cost of operation and have been built and enhanced both technically and practically in keeping with the customers’ needs in mind. Sharing his views about this programme, Browns Agriculture Deputy General Manager Sanjaya Nissanka said, “As an organisation we are honored and yet humbled to have had the opportunity to take part in this noble initiative. We salute and appreciate the government’s strife in constantly seeking ways to ease the hardships and improve the lives of the rural community of Sri Lanka. We hope to join hands with the government in similar programmes in the near future”.
