Humanity yearns to want existence on a higher plane of life. A life where there is no sorrow, fear or despair. Unfortunately it seems to be unattainable, when in fact it is possible to attain it. What we are called to do is to live the truth. When we do so, we stay connected to a higher source or intelligent being and power that yearns to give of itself to us.

Truth is about being true. It’s living a life of sincerity, honesty and telling the truth always. Sadly however, the world hates truth, for it draws its breath from falsehood, lies and deception for its existence. May we take some of our politicians for our case study? When people voted for a particular person at the elections, they did so for also a particular party ideology. The politicians promised to serve the people and look after their interests. But after they are elected, they have no qualms to switch places and hold on to a different ideology to what they held earlier. We leave it to the reader to decide if such politicians could be trusted to uphold the truth. Are they being true upholders of sincerity, honesty and courageous enough to tell the truth and live it?

We may be living in the illusion that these politicians and others who do not live the truth would not affect our life. As long as I am able to look after myself and mine why should I fret? Sadly and unfortunately however, that’s not how things work out. When truth is not lived, it has the terrible effect of harming society. One sees unrighteous living and the daily killings. They are so brutal that limbs are severed and whole families wiped out. Are some people not being straight in their attitude or dealings, dabbling with the occult world instead? If so it could be dangerous for such and the whole nation.

The only security that is assured and proclaimed by true spirituality is to come under the dominion of living the truth in all that we say and do. Then will the human spirit be able to sigh in relief. Unrighteous living will not give security and peace, however much we make pretence of religion or dabble with the spirit world. The challenge for the highest to the lowest in the land is to dare to be different. Living in duplicity, clothed in popularity and winning gimmicks would be like the proverbial ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’. We know what will follow next.
