Fresh bid to secure pardon for Rizana

My attention has been drawn to a news report, in your esteemed paper of 10th May 2012.
 I have analysed and explained the exact Shariah position on this case in my letter of 2nd July 2011.

The more we try to interfere with their Judicial system, the longer it will take to resolve this issue.

I can give many instances, wherein without any outside interference, here the individual has been brought to the place of execution, and been forgiven “seeking the  pleasure of Allah” since this is recommended in the Quran;
 The Quran legislates the death penalty for murder, although forgiveness and compassion are strongly encouraged. The murder victim’s family is given a choice to either insist on the death penalty, or to pardon the perpetrator and accept monetary compensation for their loss (2:178).  For anyone to say that the King has postponed the execution following the clemency appeal of our President, cannot be true, since the Ruler has no right to decide, when individuals rights are violated. Where both parties are Saudis, the intervention of tribal leaders can bring about a settlement. Mr.Dilan Perera cannot say this, without proof, since Shariah is Allah’s law,and since the Quran was revealed over fourteen centuries ago, there have been no “amendments” as in our constitution and criminal codes.

Let us be patient, and Insha Allah, the parents will pardon this girl purely for the reward from Allah, NOT to please the King or our  President.  Islam is all about pleasing Allah by obeying his commandments and keeping away from his prohibitions. I hope that sanity will prevail among our politicians even at this late stage.,without using this to gain political mileage.
