Parliament activities confined to two hours

Parliament sessions were confined to two hours yesterday (24) as neither a Bill nor a regulation was taken up for debate.
The order paper of the House said that the sessions should be conducted from 1pm to 3pm. The sessions therefore were confined to the dissemination of speaker’s announcements, presentation of petitions, the answering of oral questions and to provide the answers to the questions raised during adjournment time.
Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakodi therefore adjourned the sessions at 3pm.
