Parliamentaian Vidura Wikramanayake and the area residents staged a protest against the delay in implementing work on the Horana - Galagedera main road.
More than 500 people participated in the protest. The parliamentarian pointed out that the project had been held up due to improvements to a stretch of 300 metres of the road.
Meanwhile, Residential Engineer Chandani Senani who met the protestors said the road development work was held up due to an action instituted by the land owner Piyadasa Wickremanayake and that she would make a report to seek a Court order to continue the project.A senior official of the contracting company, who intervened in the discussion was taken to task by Parliamentarian Vidura Wickramanayake.
