Wijayananda & Anuradha appointed as DGs of PM’s Office

Wijayananda Herath and Anuradha Herath have been appointed as new Director Generals  of the Prime Minister's Office, the Prime Minister’s Media Division said yesterday.


Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa's former Media Secretary Wijayananda Herath has been appointed as the Director General of Media and Communications of the Prime Minister.


Mr. Herath also served as the Media Coordinating Secretary to Mr. Rajapaksa during his tenure as President (2006-2014) and when Mr. Rajapaksa was the Minister of Labour and Vocational Training (1995 - 1997) and the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (1997- 2000).


Meanwhile, Anuradha K. Herath has been appointed as the Director General of Foreign Relations of Prime Minister Rajapaksa.


After the appointment of the previous Government in 2019, Ms. Herath also served as Prime Minister's Director of Foreign Media and Foreign Relations.


Ms. Herath served as the Director of the Sri Lanka Institute of Media Training and a Lecturer at the University of Pace (PACE), New York, US.
