The United Nations in Sri Lanka yesterday acknowledged the commitments made by the Sri Lankan Government to sustainable development.

In a tweet, it said, “We support all Sri Lankans in their efforts to achieve the sustainable development agenda which leaves no one behind, and acknowledge the commitment of the Government of Sri Lanka to the sustainable development.”

The UN in Sri Lanka said this while retweeting a tweet by the UN News.

The UN News tweet said, “At the UN General Assembly, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka highlighted his country’s response to COVID-19, underscoring the importance of a well-coordinated approach, underpinned by a robust local healthcare system, to contain the disease.”
