Two arrested and suspicious equipment seized on suspicion of illegal activities

A stock of computer software, cellular phones, air rifles and computer equipment was seized and two suspects arrested by the Kohuwala police on suspicion of their possible involvement in any illegal activities. Police carried out the raid on information from the public.  


Police said the 34-year-old manager of the company manufacturing computer software for export was a foreigner and the employee arrested was a Sri Lankan. On information provided by the suspects already in custody, a senior police official said several other employees had taken away a stock of laptops and computer software and that they would be taken in for questioning. He said the data stored in computers and laptops would be examined to find evidence of the suspects’ involvement in any illegal activities.
