Chairman of the Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya said the Elections Commission was ready to hold any election first, be it Presidential or Provincial Council.
Commenting on the President’s comment that the Presidential Election was likely to be held on December 07, the Chairman said that the Presidential polls should be held between November 09 and December 08.

Participating in a domestic campaign to distribute electoral registers in Egodauyana area in Moratuwa,Chairman Deshapriya said that they were always standby like the Fire Brigade to face any situation.
“The Fire Brigade will douse any number of fires they hear of, likewise we are ready to face any number of elections without question,” he further said.
