Prez. Rajapakse’s regime will be a time of religious awakening: Maha Sangha

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s regime would be a time of religious and social awakening in the country, Maha Sangha predicted.   


At the National Conference of All Island ‘Sasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya,’ which was held at the BMICH last Wednesday they said Sri Lanka would surely prosper under the current President’s regime. In addition, Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathna Thera said the President should be involved in uplifting Dhamma education in Sri Lanka. The Thera said that the previous government had not fulfilled their requests satisfactorily and said that they believed the current President would lend a hand to them as they were dedicated towards creating a disciplined younger generation.   


The event was presided over by Malwathu Chapter Anunayake Ven. Divulkumbure Sri Vimaladharma Thera, Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya Mahanayake Most Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa Thera, Ven. Matale Dhamma Kusala Thera, Ven. Gonaduwe Gunananda Thera and Ven. Prof Thumbulle Seelakkhanda Thera. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa participated as the Chief Guest.
