A stock of a contraband known as “ Hash Oil or Tettra Hydro Canabisole” was seized in transit and a suspect arrested by the Colombo Organised Crime Investigation Unit during a raid carried out at Piliyandala. Police said the stock consisted of 1.5kilos of the drug and that it was for the first time that a stock of this drug was found in the country.
Investigations had revealed that the suspect was the kingpin behind the racket and that a drug trafficker in Dubai had procured the stock of intoxicant and that the suspect was transporting it to a hotel in Colombo. The suspect had sped away and attempted to evade arrest, but the police had given chase and arrested him. Police said the Colombo Narcotic Bureau had taken over the case further investigations and that samples of the drug would be referred to the Govt. Analyst for reports.
