A Muslim Organization in Kattankudy, ‘The Waliyyullah Trust’ (WT) had alerted top officials of the government on the impending threat of the National Thawheeth Jama’at (NTJ) as far back as March 2017 and has requested to take action to ban NTJ to help the people of this nation to live with freedom and peace the Daily Mirror learns.

In a confidential letter sent to the government top brass, the Secretary of the WT, Moulavi K.R.N. Sahlan and Chief Trustee Abdul Jawaadh Alim say that Moulavi M.C.M. Zahraan (Masoothi) - NIC Number 862014685V - the preacher of Islamic fundamentalist activists organization named National Thawheeth Jama’at (NTJ) of No. 296, F.C.Road, New Kattankudy 03, has been preaching that the non-violence peaceful way of Islam is a contradiction and it is a doctrine of other Religions.

“Being patriots, we bring to your great attention that a few seditious teams have been doing campaigns so as to destroy our multi ethnic country while the different ethnic nations are living in unity and brotherhood,” they said.
“In the present time, since some Muslim individuals are found with ethnic social discrimination, activism, and the trends of Islamic fundamentalism they are very easily absorbed in to extremism. This is a bitter past international history,” they have pointed out.
The NTJ in its fundamentalist lectures teaches that Islam is not a religion of peace. It is a religion of the sword, non Muslims should be killed, Muslims shouldn’t be united with non Muslims, non Muslims’ economy should be looted by armed Muslims, patriotism is a damage to the Islamic regime, a Patriot is not a Muslim, Hoisting the Sri Lankan National Flag will affect the Islamic rule, and the Islamic flag should fly in Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka is non Muslims’ country. Muslims should seize it and the day when Sri Lanka becomes a Muslim country is the day of freedom to Muslims etc. “Apart from these, he has been preaching so many seditious words. These are very jeopardizing words for the unity and harmony of the country,” the letter further said.

Under cover of a religious campaign conducted by his NTJ on 10.03.2017 he started violence on the native Muslims. In this incident, one youth came under a sword attack and was admitted to hospital. Another youth was seriously injured.

A prosecution numbered (B/276/2017) is in progress at Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court. It is no doubt that their activities will introduce religious violence against the Muslims in Kattankudy and also among the other Sinhala and Tamil communities. These activities will affect the sovereignty and security of our democratic socialist republic.

By the activities of the mentioned radical organization, there is a chance of violence to rise in Kattankudy as well as in many peace, the letter further stressed.
