Eight commuters were injured when a lorry collided with a train proceeding to Galle at Peter’s Lane, Dehiwela last afternoon, police said.
They said those injured were standing on the footboard of the train. The mishap had occurred when the lorry was reversed to the direction of the railway track.
The injured were admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital in Kalubowila. Further investigations are being carried out by the Dehiwala Police.
