Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) called for the arrest of Karuna Amman who had claimed he had killed thousands of security forces personnel, SJB candidate Hirunika Premachandra said yesterday. Ms. Premachandra told a press conference that Karuna Amman had not made a confession but had bragged about his killings. “ It was Karuna Amman who signed a pact with SLPP during the last Presidential elections to support its candidate. Therefore, how can SLPP claim that Karuna is one in our party,” she said.
“ Many SLPP members are suffering from ‘ Rajapaksa gaya’ ( obsession) rather than ‘Ranawiru gaya’,” she added. She also charged that it was the SLPP leaders who harassed Filed Marshal Sarath Fonseka and put him
into jail.
