Several hand-held Chemical Detection Devices supplied by Australia were handed over to the Acting IGP C. D. Wickramaratne, supporting measures taken by Sri Lanka in fighting terrorism, organised crime and narcotics trafficking, the Australian High Commission said.

The devices were handed over by the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka David Holly and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Detective Superintendent Rob Wilson yesterday.

At the presentation ceremony, High Commissioner Holly said Australia expresses solidarity with Sri Lanka in facing the impact of the global threats of terrorism, organised crime and narcotics trafficking.
