The Elections Commission has ordered the Provincial Director Education of the North Central Province to suspend the transfers given to three teachers in Thambuththegama Central College by the Zonal Director of Education, Thambuththegama disregarding its order, and to report back to the Commission.
R.A.R.H. Mendis, P.N. Jayaweera, and K.A. Sumith Prasanna are the teachers who had been transferred. Their transfers were suspended by H.M.N.D. Herath, the Secretary of the Elections Commission by letter dated 8th of October. These three teachers had been transferred on three occasions by the Zonal Director of Education during
last month .
The transfers thus made have been suspended till the conclusion of the Presidential Election by Thambuththegama Zonal Director of Education J.M.K.R. Bandara subsequent to the second order of the Elections Commission.
The Zonal Director of Education has informed the relevant teachers, the Director of Education and the Chief Secretary of North Central Province, Provincial Public Service Commission and Elections Commission regarding these instructions.
