A Police Constable attached to the Thalangama Police was arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting the main suspect who shot at underworld figure ‘Sunshine Sudda’ in Weligama. Police said the 35-year-old constable had allegedly provided transport to the shooter from Athurugiriya to Weligama and then back to Athurugiriya.
He was to produced in the Matara Magistrate’s Court. Amila Prasanga alias Sunshine Sudda, a close associate of Makandure Madush, was injured in the shooting incident on May 30. The STF arrested the main suspect in the shooting, Jerome Kolitha alias ‘Athurugiriye Jerome’.
