Constitutional Council ( CC) has instructed its Secretary General Dammika Dasanayake to draw the attention of the Secretary of the Finance Ministry on the non availability of funds to the Provincial Councils, Parliament sources said yesterday.
“The Constitutional Council which met on the 11th May 2020 considered a report submitted by the Finance Commission in respect of allocation of funds to the Provincial Councils,” sources said.
The Council noted that the Provincial Councils were facing difficulties in carrying out their day to day activities due to the non receipt of full allocations of the provisions approved by the Finance Commission, sources added..
