Alleged tampering evidence relating to Thajudeen murder Former JMO Samarasekara to be indicted

Senior Deputy Solicitor General Dilan Ratnayake yesterday said that indictments will be filed in High Court against former JMO Ananda Samarasekara for allegedly tampering with evidence relating to the main magisterial inquiry of the Thajudeen murder.   


Appearing for the prosecution in the main magisterial inquiry conducted into the Thajudeen murder, SDSG Rathnayake also stated that further investigation is being carried out over the suspicious vehicle dispatched from the Temple Trees on the day Thajudeen was killed.   


Meanwhile, on the instructions of the Attorney General, first suspect Sumith Perera who was the former Narahenpita Crime OIC was released from the case by Colombo Additional Magistrate Shalani Perera as he was expected to be the crown witness for the prosecution.  


The main magisterial inquiry relating to the killing of Wasim Thajudeen was postponed to October 31, 2019.
