A ceremony to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of local cinema and the 48th anniversary of the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka was held at the Film Corporation’s theatre under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Tuesday. Prime Minister Rajapaksa paid floral tributes to late Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike, the founder of the Film Corporation. Film Corporation’s Chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa, Working Director Rohan Weliwita and a large number of veteran artistes attended the event.
