31km roads in Kilinochchi district to be constructed

Construction of four internal roads covering a distance of 31km in the Kilinochchi district was initiated recently under the guidance of V.Sivagnanasothy, Secretary to the Ministry of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs, a statement said. 

 
Accordingly, construction work on the Ramanathanpuram-Tampapuram road (7.56km), Pulopalai-Alippalai road (3.57km), Taylor road (10.54km) and Murukandi-Kanakapuram road (9.21km) were initiated.  


A sum of Rs.9,000 million has been invested to build 47 roads under 03 road packages in the Kilinochchi district.  


The Integrated Road Investment Programme has invested Rs.51,000 million to rehabilitate and renovate 1,034 kilometres of 343 roads under 17 road packages in the Northern Province.  
These road development projects are to be implemented as a high priority project under the financial assistance of the Asian Development Bank under the Integrated Road Investment Programme implemented by the Ministry of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs.   


These roads are being developed under the supervision of the Road Development Authority. 

 

These road development projects are to be implemented as a high priority project under the financial assistance of the ADB
